Snappegs

Snappegs is a system of pegboard accessories and mounts that I designed and produced. They fit the IKEA Skadis pegboards. The mounts that IKEA sells are quite poorly designed and I wanted something that would actually lock into place and didn't fall off every time I grabbed a tool. I also wanted the option to store other kinds of tools and accessories that were not covered by the standard mounts.

The hooks work by having a base that snaps into the pegboard, then you screw the actual mount onto the base. The screw expands tabs on the back side of the board which locks it all together.

I launched snapepegs as a kickstarter which was a huge undertaking for me. I am not a marketing expert or a videographer. The project ultimately did not meet the funding goal but I was quite proud to have gotten it posted and people actually did pledge. It now lives on Etsy where I sell a few sets a week.

I designed initially as a 3D printable product but I have injection moldable options as well. I don't ever expect it to be at a volume where injection molding makes sense financially but it was fun to design around that challenge anyways.
