Bottom Bracket

This project was an evolution of a single speed bottom bracket design that Niner pioneered. The original version had some issues with creaking under load and I was tasked with making it better. The solution was to use more bolts to clamp it in place and to spread the bolts out as far as possible. I also used a stronger support between the two sides that engaged with each other instead of relying on a bolt to resist sheer forces. The support also helped keep both sides of the bottom bracket aligned to each other. This version also used integrated bearings which allowed the whole unit to be much smaller.Â
